On a cold and gray Chicago mornin' another little baby child is born, in the ghetto...

First things first: Watching a girl trip and stumble because she was checking you out might be the finest ego-boost ever.

Now that that's out of the way... wow. I don't know why I've been in such a good mood this week, but I hope I can figure it out soon, so I can bottle the stuff and take a hit or two next time I feel like I need to. Or maybe I've just lost my damn mind again. Either way, I figure I'll enjoy it while I can.

I was talking with Sam last night, so of course the conversation eventually turned to tech and gadgetry, and he started going on about cell phones that'll take pictures and that have all sorts of other functionality, and I called shenanigans on the whole concept. I took a sort of "everything or nothing" stance, and said either give me a cell phone that fits entirely in an ear bud, or give me something about half the size of a day planner that'll do everything but suck my cock, and the only reason it won't do that is because I haven't brought the adapter yet. On further reflection, tho', I realized I didn't really want either of those things. I'm slowly but surely shifting back into a more and more minimalist mindset.

I haven't touched my Visor in weeks. I've been jotting everything down in a little pocket notepad. I'm getting back into the habit of carrying cash, rather than using my debit card for every little thing. By virtue of not having cable I don't watch anywhere near as much TV as I used to, and the lack of that distraction at home has forced me to either get out of the apartment more or stay in just to sit and think, or, wonder of wonders, read a damn book. Right now, I'm leading a calmer, less chaotic life than I have in a very long time, and apparently it's doing me a world of good.
