Self-Portrait 3

(no subject)

I've gotten so adjusted to working that I pulled out my key to the shop on the way up the stairs just now instead of the key to my apartment. Which kind of sucks. I guess thirty hours of overtime in the space of a week will do that to you.

I ran across the street to the Cold Bone Reamery just now to get a milkshake, and it was a very educational trip. I always thought "sorbet" was just a fancy French term for ice cream, but turns out I'm an ignorant dumbass, and they're two completely different things. You can't make a milkshake from a sorbet, did you know that? I didn't, but I do now. The little red-headed ice cream girl suggested using orange juice instead of milk and throwing in a little extra ice cream -sorry, sorbet- so I said sure. Turns out it's really damn good. So I got that goin' for me. Which is nice.

Finally picked up a keyboard for my Visor today, off ebay. All I need to do now is find a modem for the thing, and I'll be all set for going wireless. Three years ago high tech. It's amazing how much of our technology is developed out of the notion that even when something's perfect it can still be better. Once I get the keyboard, the modem, and a shitty little Aiptek that takes 640 x 480s, I'll have wireless web posting ability (words and pictures), with components that I can stuff into a pocket that'll run off, total, 4 AAA batteries. But that's just not good enough for some people, so now you can get a phone that does the same thing. Which, don't get me wrong, is 100 % swanktastic, but still. Cramming all that tech into a phone just means there's more stuff in there that can break. There's nothing wrong with piecing together functionality from component parts.

Hurm. Since I'm actually buying the shit to go wireless, I suppose I should go ahead and put together that web page I keep talking about, so I have something more useful to do with this all this crap than update my livejournal from the toilet if I feel like it.

And by the way, don't think I won't. Because I will.
