Watch out for the medallion my diamonds are reckless/Feels like a midget is hangin' from my necklace

Very nice day today. Filled with good people, things getting done, and things to do.

Woke up at ten. Went to the bathroom to take my "morning constitutional", heard a sharp crack. My ass is still in one piece (or two, I guess, depending on how you look at things), but my toilet seat is not. Oh well. I was just gonna duct tape the thing back together (Words of wisdom from the rednecks of America: If you can't duck it, fuck it.), but I figured that since I knew for a fact that there'd be a girl here pretty soon I'd just get a new one. If I'd gone on and thought about the fact that that girl was Michelle I wouldn't have bothered. The rest of my day consisted of --

-- A couple hours of Knights of the Old Republic.

-- Showering and shaving. Took the clippers to my goatee to trim it and utterly fucked it up, but I decided not to shave it off. So now I have a strip of hair running down the middle of my chin. Judging from everyone else's reactions, or lack thereof, it evidently doesn't look as insipid as I first thought. I might acutally keep it.

-- Shopping trip to Target. I got a wedding present for Matt and Sarah, a hat, cable to eliminate the coax that's strung across my apartment, Sharpies for labelling CD's, and a replacement toilet seat. I briefly, but very very seriously, considered spending forty dollars on a seat made of clear acrylic with little yellow ducks in it.

-- Having dinner with Michelle. We very literally watched my tape of the season premier of Gilmore Girls. Still the best dialogue on TV, even if you can't hear it.

-- Doing some exercises and working on handsets and forms with Luke. Also, talking some very interesting history with Jason Lee. And that was my 'fu for today. Also got the stamp of approval on my Pa Qua board, and gave Luke his birthday present.

54 degrees out. Clear, nice brisk wind. For me, this is light jacket and hat weather, also known as "perfect". I'm given to understand that people in places where there are distinct seasons call this fall, or autumn. In Alabama we call it that two or three weeks in October before it gets cold.

And speaking of jackets, I'm installing knives in the patch coat. Or utterly ruining it, one or the other.
