This has got to be the least spooky Hallowe'en EVAR. 70 degree+ temps just don't lend themselves well to scariness and unease.

Went to Shelli's halloween party tonight, had lots of fun and beer. I got to see Dave and Cooper again for the first time in far, far too long. Going out with Sam and Mike tomorrow to get shot at, which should either be great fun or really suck.

Hurm. Yesterday wasn't actually Hallowe'en, was it? Well, shit. Sadly enough, today seems even less spooky.

I think a lot of the spookiness of Hallowe'en has to do with the weather. At least, it seems that way to me. When it's nice and cold and damp outside, like it usually is on the last of October, everyone wants to be inside. If somebody goes out, they bundle up in a coat and hat and rush out, shutting the door behind them. Everyone inside is going "Ahhhh! Shut the door, shut the door!" Everything is battened down tight. We all know we do stuff like that because of the cold, but it's very easy to pretend there's something else behind those actions. That there's something else outside that we need to be afraid of.

Being able to run around in a t-shirt sort of takes the edge off that.
