Self-Portrait 3

-- The Oscar telecast was frightfully dull after Chris Rock's opening monologue, tho' it was funny that there were a couple times when they came back from commercial when he was visibly nervous. All things considered, I thought he did a pretty good job, even if it was impossible to shake the impression that he was there because the Oscars were trying to get street cred. My favorite bit of the night was when he introduced Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek as "these next four presenters".

-- Also, Hillary Swank wasn't wearing anything last night but her dress, her shoes, and some double-stick tape.

-- It occured to me yesterday that I don't actually like most of the people that I know, which is really kind of sad. My time left on this earth, I've decided, is far, far too short to spend it with people who, in most cases, I'd quite frankly much rather punch in the face. So I expect to be much happier from now on.

-- I'm starting my New Year's resolutions two months late this year and cutting sodas and the junk I snack on out of my diet. Anyone who feels the the need to say "it's about time", please accept my open invitation to bite me directly on the buttocks at your earliest convenience.
