I never met the man, but I'll miss him.
Green Lantern
hellblazer
Comic and commercial illustrator Martin Nodell died this weekend at the age of 91. He was an ad man, and part of the team that came up with the Pillsbury Doughboy.

He also (with writer Bill Finger) created the Green Lantern in 1940, and so would eventually play a pretty big part in helping a little black kid in the sticks in Greensboro, Alabama not be quite as much of a hassle for the mother who was raising him by herself, and helping teach that hard-headed little boy right from wrong by giving me something to live up to.
