"Never picked up a book/but my arms are sixteen inches; nigga, look"
Self-Portrait 3
Well, not exactly. I'm not going to forget about the arms, but I plan on picking up quite a few books this summer. I hope to add to the reading list, and please feel free to make suggestions to that effect, but --

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, by Gregory Maguire

One For the Money, by Janet Evanovich

The Amber Spyglass, by Philip Pullman

Y: The Last Man, Vol. 2 & 3, by Brian K. Vaughn

The Storm-Dragon’s Heart, by David Chunn

Wrath of the White Tigress, by David Chunn

Memoirs of a Geisha, by Arthur Golden

City of Bones, by Martha Wells

Legend, by David Gemmell

Bad Boy Brawly Brown, by Walter Mosley

Little Scarlett, by Walter Mosley

Battle Royal, by Koushun Takami

The Legend of Recluse, by L.E. Modestitt

The Gathering Dark, by Christopher Golden

High Fidelity, by Nick Hornby

American Psycho, by Bret Easton Ellis

One Hundred Years of Solitude, by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

The Birth of Tragedy and The Genealogy of Morals, by Friedrich Nietzsche

The Hero With a Thousand Faces, by Joseph Campbell

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, by J.K. Rowling

-- with the obvious exception of the latter, that’s just the stuff that’s sitting around my apartment that I still have yet to read. How sad is that?

**EDIT** to add a couple books that I'd forgotten and to organize the list into a semblance of the order in which I plan on hitting them.

I picked up Y on the recommendation of the local shop owner- it's pretty good stuff.

Have you read any Invincible?

and High Fidelity is awe inspiring in it's honesty.

No, but I keep hearing good things about it. I have a stack of it in my "to be bought" list. Right after I clear out some of what's up there.

I'm looking around and not seeing any pics of this miracle hat of yours. Does it have flames on it? Did you get it from Wal-Mart at a wicked-low price? Does it fire "lasers"?

Foolish mortal. The hat is coming.

Charlie Wilson's War - by George Crile
