Probably so. Taiji uses a lot more muscle than you think, especially in the legs, hips, and buttocks. Like I said, it's deceptively hard. It's fairly easy to make a lunging step, but doing it slowly with a lot of control is a lot harder.

Wait until you get to the harder section of the form.

Bagua is worse, though.

Legs, hips, butt. Yeah, that sounds about right.
