Yesterday wasn't a bad day to not have internet access, tho'. I finished the book Shelli gave me for Christmas, and TV Land was (and still is) in the process of running a That Girl marathon when I got up yesterday. I watched more than a few episodes, due to a powerful sense of happy nostalgia. I remember the summer when I was 11 or 12, my mother and I would sit and watch the That Girl reruns they showed on what was at the time WDBB 17, an independent station out of Tuscaloosa. This was back in the days before they had Montel/Maury/Ellen/Tyra/Donahue to fill the airwaves between the noon and 6 pm news broadcasts. WDBB, incidentally, would soon become first the local Fox and later the local WB (now CW) affiliate.
Marlo Thomas in That Girl was probably my first real crush, which would explain that weird thing I have for bangs and/or go-go boots.
