I'm planning on getting high-speed internet access run into my apartment, either by way of DSL or cable modem, whichever works out to be the best deal. The thing of it is, I'm wondering if you have to have cable service in order to get the cable modem, or if you can't have the latter without the former. Because, and I never thought I'd hear myself say this, I think I can get by without cable. There really isn't that much on TV that's worth watching anymore, especially now that Farscape has been cancelled. Actually, it may not be so much that I honestly want to get by without cable, because really, I don't, as it is that in the past year, I've really gotten used to not paying for it, and having that extra money every month is pretty nice. Getting one or the other (cable or cable modem) would cost the same amount of money, so it's basically a question of which I want more. Hurm. Clearly a bit more research is in order.
Speaking of research, and I was, I read somewhere yesterday that there's somewhere in the neighborhood of 100,000 hairs on the average human head. I have a fairly larger than average head, which, one would assume, means a larger than average number of hairs, which would explain why I go through razors so fast.
